Settlements and Operations Manager

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Settlements and Operations Manager to lead our settlement team in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in contract and spot market settlements, with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the settlements team in performing contract and spot market settlements, ensuring accurate revenue entitlement and timely payment of trading settlement amounts.
  • Lead negotiations with counterparties regarding settlement disputes or queries.
  • Understand AEMO metering and settlements processes to ensure compliance with metrology procedures and standards.
  • Lead creation and confirmation of derivative trade confirmations, ensuring accuracy with deal ticket and ISDA conditions.
  • Work with business stakeholders and IT teams to plan and coordinate system changes as required.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have sound experience working in a similar role, preferably within complex multinational organisations within the energy trading sector. You will be able to manage complexity to solve problems and challenge the status quo for the benefit of the team and organisation.

You will need to have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Key qualifications include:

  • Relevant degree in a field such as finance, commerce or economics;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets and instruments;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
