Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a graduate to join our team and contribute to the provision of data and insights on matters of domestic, economic, social, and international policy. The successful candidate will work closely with core teams across the government to improve policy through bespoke analysis, creating custom data tools, and procuring data from across the government and the private sector.

The role will involve working with various stakeholders, including the Net Zero Taskforce, to identify regions around Australia that may be vulnerable to economic disruption during the transition to a net-zero economy. Additionally, the graduate will produce daily Current Issues Briefs on key cost-of-living indicators used by Prime Minister, develop key reporting or information products, and engage with people in regions impacted by decarbonisation.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work with a variety of software development tools, including git, and produce work in the R programming language.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Supporting the Net Zero Taskforce to identify regions at risk
  • Producing timely and accurate Current Issues Briefs
  • Developing effective reporting and information products
  • Engaging with stakeholders to understand their needs and interests

Requirements:

  • Completed university degree within the last eight years or in final year of study
  • Australian citizenship
  • Willingness to relocate to Canberra
  • Police, character, and health checks as required
