Data Governance Role

Are you a strategic leader seeking to drive data governance across an organisation? We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team as Data Governance Lead.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead on data governance and protection at a state education authority. You will be responsible for designing and implementing a governance framework that aligns with business objectives, leading enterprise-wide practices for metadata management and data lineage, and driving improvements in data quality.

You will also be responsible for partnering with security and privacy teams to deliver robust data protection measures, supporting the implementation of technical safeguards, and guiding and educating teams on data governance principles.

Requirements
  • Proven ability to design data governance frameworks and drive adoption across complex organisations.
  • Experience applying data protection principles, including privacy by design and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence in guiding and negotiating at all levels.

You will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience. A valid Working with Children Check clearance is also required.
