
Strategic Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Strategic Health Advisor. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children worldwide.
The successful candidate will provide strategic technical guidance that advances our programming in Health, shaping our vision of global, community-led action.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will drive strategic technical thinking with counterparts to develop and apply sectoral and cross-cutting approaches, tools, and frameworks that align with our strategy, reflect best practice, and uphold locally led development.
- You will provide quality specialist guidance within sector portfolios and across cross-cutting themes, fostering alignment and integration.
- You will deliver timely, context-sensitive technical guidance to strengthen design, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement throughout the program cycle management.
- You will drive sector-wide learning, capacity strengthening, and practice improvement through mentoring, training, resource development, and structured support to enable quality delivery, local leadership, and sustainable programming.
- You will support resource mobilisation by contributing to high-quality concept notes and proposals, embedding strong technical approaches aligned with donor and organisational priorities.
- You will foster strong relationships across our organisation and partners to promote alignment and collaborative program development that enhances technical coherence, communication, and impact.
- You will promote continuous improvement by generating and applying best practice and evidence through research, evaluations, knowledge exchange, and publications. You will facilitate learning through communities of practice and peer engagement.
- You will participate in external technical groups, networks, and platforms to raise the profile of our work, share learning, and contribute to sector-wide advancement.
- You will support effective knowledge translation by working alongside communications, advocacy, grants, and fundraising teams to effectively communicate our approach, reach, and impact.
- You will champion the integration of gender equity, disability, and social inclusion (GEDSI), and safeguarding best practices across technical work; remain responsive to risks and uphold compliance with our policies and standards.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as public health, community development, or international development.
- Strong sector experience grounded in frontline work in public health policy, programs, and services or community-based initiatives (international or domestic).
- Demonstrated experience in developing successful project & grant proposals.
- Demonstrated experience in developing high-quality technical materials such as training materials, tools, guidelines, academic materials.
- Experience in delivering training, capacity strengthening, and mentoring.
- Cross-cultural experience in a development or national context.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Understanding of child rights-based approaches and frameworks.
- Experience in the Mekong and/or Pacific region an added value.
- Familiarity with GEDSI and safeguarding frameworks and practices.
- Experience in Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) and/or child and maternal health.
