Indigenous Cultural Liaison Specialist

The Salvation Army is seeking a values-driven Indigenous Cultural Liaison Specialist to enhance cultural competency and improve the experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples at AOD sites across QLD.
This permanent, part-time (15.2hrs per week) position located in Red Hill, QLD offers a salary and conditions in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Level 4 Award.
We are looking for a compassionate individual who shares our mission and values, with relevant degree and experience or less formal qualifications with specialised skills, demonstrated experience engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and service providers.
About the Role:
- Contribute to source and/or develop appropriate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander resources and training.
- Lead &/or support Yarning or Learning Circles that align with the Cultural Capability and Competency Framework elements.
- Conduct regular inspection of site to ensure it is culturally safe.
- Provide support and/or input to the clinical team to ensure case plans address cultural needs.
- Develop strategies and timeframes to engage and communicate the Cultural Capability and Competency Framework elements at a site level.
You Will Have:
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people and ability to influence leaders in this space.
- Experience in dealing with complex and diverse issues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and methods of providing culturally appropriate solutions.

Estimated Salary: $63,050 - $83,150 per annum based on 15.2 hours per week
