Industry Researcher

IBISWorld is seeking a skilled Industry Researcher to join our team. As an Industry Researcher, you will contribute to our company's mission of helping clients make better business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, interpret, and analyze macroeconomic, demographic, and industry-specific data to identify and clearly communicate key business trends.
  • Long-term forecasting based on existing industry data.
  • Update high-quality industry reports within specified deadlines and in accordance with in-house editorial and quality standards.
  • Qualitative research, keeping up-to-date with key macroeconomic and industry trends.
  • Perform client presentations.
  • Contribute to product development initiatives.
  • Give interviews to journalists about your assigned industries as required.

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree in economics, commerce, business, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to analyze and forecast economic data, demonstrated through either previous work experience or university studies.
  • Familiarity with online research techniques.
  • A solid grasp of economics, financial terms, and business concepts.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience writing business research articles, reports, or other key documents for a business audience is a strong advantage.
  • A strong interest in keeping up-to-date with economic news and current events.
  • Confidence to liaise with the media regarding current industry trends.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Reporting to the Industry Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Collecting, interpreting, and analyzing macroeconomic, demographic, and industry-specific data to identify and clearly communicate key business trends.
  • Long-term forecasting based on existing industry data.
  • Updating high-quality industry reports within specified deadlines and in accordance with in-house editorial and quality standards.
  • Qualitative research, keeping up-to-date with key macroeconomic and industry trends.
  • Performing client presentations.
  • Contributing to product development initiatives.
  • Giving interviews to journalists about your assigned industries as required.
