Job Title: Protection Systems Specialist

As a key professional in our organization, you will play a vital role in safeguarding our national security by analyzing current and emerging threats, developing countermeasures, facilitating training and exercises, and providing on-site protection support to daily operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience applying JP 5-0 Joint Planning principles and/or products at the tactical and operational levels, as well as knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with ops planning and protection teams; synchronizing priorities and activities through frequent interactions with remote GPOC, command and control, and mission protection units.
  • Lead site integration into Joint Planning Process (JP 5-0) Forums/Working Groups to ensure site operations/support divisions/mission protection capabilities are represented in planning.
  • Plan and organize site involvement in internal and external exercises, and when necessary, wargames.
  • Develop debriefs to capture lessons learned to improve space operations and protection efforts.
  • Work with internal and external partners to equip site operators and leaders to make decisions on protection-related actions.
  • Design and deliver Mission Protection training to site personnel.
  • Manage schedules to ensure coverage of IC Enterprise meetings occurring during non-standard duty hours.
  • Identify and capture risks, issues, and opportunities for the customer and provide analysis and recommendations.
  • Produce and review documents related to new capabilities, concepts, and integration efforts.
  • Handle Full Knowledge and Consent (FK&C) issues pertaining to mission protection systems located in or operated through Australia with the Australian mission partner.
