Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate favorable terms and volume discounts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services, and supplies.
  • Take responsibility for purchases in support of customer-related business processes or for internal use.
  • Discuss defects and delivery problems with suppliers and negotiate refunds.
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, warehouse, and engineering teams to ensure proper scheduling and movement of goods and supplies.
  • Utilize experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes.
  • Mentor less experienced team members.
  • Review and approve supplier invoices with Accounts Payable.
  • Contribute to Supplier Performance Evaluations.
Required Education & Experience:
  • This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer-related information.
  • A bachelor's degree is required, along with 5+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and NAICS is essential, as well as commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within Government Prime Contractor purchasing.
  • You must be organized, detail-oriented, and demonstrate strong time management skills, able to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects with general supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, as well as adaptability to changing work efforts and shifting priorities.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with peers, suppliers, and customers, contributing to a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
  • Familiarity with MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is a plus.
  • Problem-solving skills are essential to develop and improve processes.
  • A working knowledge of Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) procedures is also desirable.
