Wellbeing and Inclusion Leader

The Wellbeing and Inclusion Leader plays a key leadership role in ensuring all students are supported to engage meaningfully in their education and achieve their full potential.

This leader has primary responsibility for leading the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of wellbeing and disability inclusion programs, ensuring alignment with state policy, evidence-based practices, and the school's Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan.

  • Lead the organisation and implementation of Disability Inclusion Profile meetings to identify students who may benefit from profiling.
  • Work with school leaders to effectively plan for and resource reasonable adjustments for individual students and targeted cohorts.
  • Build the capacity of staff to support the wellbeing and engagement of all students through professional learning, modelling inclusive practices, and supporting staff in the use of data, research, and reflective practice.

This includes leading key teams and initiatives across the school to strengthen inclusive practices and drive school improvement in the areas of wellbeing and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective wellbeing and disability inclusion strategies that align with the school's vision and values.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement evidence-based interventions and strategies to support students with diverse needs.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff to build their capacity to support students with additional needs.
  • Liaise with external agencies and professionals to ensure students receive appropriate support and services.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of wellbeing and disability inclusion programs on student outcomes.
Requirements
  • Provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles of inclusive education and wellbeing.
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
