Job Opportunity: Retail Cafe Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated retail cafe manager to join our team.

As a key member, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our cafe and cheese shop. Your leadership skills will drive retail sales, refine menus that celebrate our range of cheeses, and ensure the space is always clean, safe, and inviting.

You will work closely with our marketing and sales teams to shape and deliver sales strategies while leading the roll-out of events, product tastings, and other customer engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily cafe operations, ensuring efficient and welcoming service, support the cheese area by interacting with customers, selling cheese, and cutting and wrapping cheese for sale.
  • Prepare high-quality coffee and food with consistency and pride, manage stock, ordering, and reduce waste, lead, train and manage small team.
  • Contribute ideas to improve cafe offerings and service, collaborate on events, tastings, and cheese-focused experiences, help align the cafe with overall business goals, including sales targets and customer engagement.
  • Maintain food safety and hygiene standards, ensure OH&S compliance across all operations.
Requirements and Qualifications

- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in cafe, hospitality, or food retail

- Passion for cheese, ideally previous experience working with cheese

- Proactive and full of initiative, with a hands-on approach

- Barista skills and genuine love for quality coffee and food

- Experience or strong interest in sales, promotions, or event planning

- Self-motivated with initiative to improve systems and lead with purpose

- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Comfortable using POS systems and handling basic admin and stock control
