Job Title: Acute Care Social Worker

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated social worker to join our acute care team. This role involves delivering high-quality social work services to patients and their families/carers.

  • Deliver expert clinical care to patients, families and carers
  • Participate in our student education program and take student clinical placements
  • Contribute to the development of social work department portfolios
  • Actively participate in supervision and professional development

Key requirements for this role include excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to excellence in patient care, energy and drive, and a keen interest in developing your skillset. To be successful, you should have:

  • A degree in social work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting
  • The ability to work autonomously in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Well-developed skills and knowledge in health, including advanced patient assessment and intervention skills, discharge planning, consultation, referral, risk assessment, and collaborative care planning
  • Proven capacity to perform as a clinical social worker role in practice settings, with a sound knowledge of principles of professional practice and adherence to professional ethics
