Strategic Risk Leader

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead investment risk strategy at a leading superannuation fund. You will shape and maintain a strong investment risk culture across the fund, operating within the second line of defence. Your role will involve close collaboration with senior investment leaders to provide independent oversight, challenge assumptions, and enhance risk-adjusted performance.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic development and execution of investment risk frameworks that align with our risk appetite and regulatory standards.
  • Provide independent oversight and challenge across all investment risk types, including market, credit, liquidity, counterparty, and operational risks.
  • Partner with the Chief Investment Officer and senior investment leaders to support risk-informed decision-making and optimise risk-adjusted returns.
  • Deliver expert risk insights and recommendations to the Investment Committee, Board, and senior leadership on portfolio construction and investment strategy.
Requirements

You will need to have deep expertise in technology and operational risk, with extensive experience in risk management within financial services, ideally superannuation. A proven track record of leading technology and operational risk at an enterprise level is essential. You should also have strong knowledge of APRA Prudential Standards (CPS 230, CPS 234), ISO standards, and relevant frameworks.
