Job Overview

Wise is seeking a skilled Financial Risk Manager to join our team in Australia. The successful candidate will provide critical support to the AU/NZ CRO, overseeing risk identification, assessment, and mitigation efforts to safeguard the organization's stability and integrity in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular financial risk assessments and stress tests to identify and evaluate risks specific to the AU/NZ region.
  • Work closely with product teams to provide risk insights into product changes, new products, and market launches.
  • Monitor and analyze regional market trends, product risks, incidents, regulatory developments, and emerging risk factors.
  • Oversee the implementation of risk management tools and systems in the AU/NZ region.
  • Design and implement effective financial risk mitigation strategies, controls, and action plans.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial risk reports and updates to senior management and the board of directors.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of financial services experience, preferably in the banking/fintech sector with a focus on the AU/NZ region.
  • Demonstrated track record of second-line risk management experience.
  • Excellent understanding of financial risks, liquidity, market, and credit risks.
  • Background in prudential regulatory risks, including stress testing, is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
