Role Overview

In this key position, you will play a vital role in managing and optimizing our cloud-based infrastructure. Reporting to the Energy Solutions Lead, your primary focus will be on enhancing our Azure infrastructure, databases, and data pipelines. You will work closely with the Data Analytics Manager and Data Analysts to identify and implement improvements in data integration, performance, and security.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain cloud data infrastructure and systems to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Manage and maintain Azure servers, databases, and data pipelines to support seamless data operations.
  • Develop and optimize cloud infrastructure to facilitate efficient data integrations and workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data infrastructure with business objectives and requirements.
  • Oversee Azure private networking to ensure secure and efficient data communication.
  • Manage Azure authentication and role management (IAM) to control access and maintain security.
  • Monitor system performance continuously and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee the AEMO Data-interchange, including server management, PDR software configuration, and MMS data model upgrades for a MSSQL database.
  • Implement security best practices to safeguard data integrity and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 7 years in cloud infrastructure management and 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure.
  • Strong background in managing Azure IaaS, ARM templates, and PowerShell scripting.
  • Expertise in networking, security, and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
  • Experience with data platforms like Databricks and proficiency in SQL are highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
  • Able to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Capable of working independently, taking initiative, and making informed decisions.
Salary

$170,000 - $190,000 per annum, plus superannuation and performance-based bonuses.
