The Perinatal Mental Health Service is a specialized mental health service that provides expert care for those with perinatal mental health needs. Our team of clinicians work closely with women, infants and their families to provide holistic assessment and management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide specialist care to women, infants and their families at risk of or experiencing moderate to severe perinatal mental health disorders as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  2. Offer mental health assessments and clinical management to promote positive maternal mental health and enhance the parent-infant relationship.
  3. Work in accordance with shared care principles to assist women's access to specialist services and enhance engagement with internal and external agencies.
  4. Take a lead role in developing and implementing system changes and service improvements within the Perinatal Mental Health Service team.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in mental health services with a clear understanding of perinatal and infant mental health clinical practice.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of psychiatric disorders that may occur during the perinatal period and appropriate treatments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of factors affecting an infant's emotional, social, cognitive and behavioral development.
