Job Opportunity

The role of Groundwater Modelling Virtual Team Leader has been created to drive growth and success in our national groundwater modelling practice. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading a virtual team of 11 people based across Brisbane, Melbourne, and Wollongong offices.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with state-based groundwater and surface water team leaders to deliver solutions for clients. You will be expected to collaborate effectively with technical staff to develop and grow our groundwater modelling practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a national groundwater modelling team and collaborate with state-based teams to deliver client solutions.
  • Work directly with technical discipline managers and directors to implement business plans.
  • Develop and grow our groundwater modelling practice.
Requirements
  • 7-20 years of industry experience as a hydrogeologist, including consultancy experience.
  • An appropriate Engineering or Science tertiary qualification.
  • A strong technical background in numerical modelling, hydrogeological conceptualisation, groundwater impact assessment, and hydrogeological investigation.
  • A thorough understanding of Australian groundwater legislation and guidelines related to resource development and infrastructure projects.
  • A strong commitment to Health and Safety.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and delivering large technical projects, particularly complex groundwater modelling projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Excellent communication and technical report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring junior staff in preparing quality reports on time and within budget.
  • Experience collaborating with related technical staff to deliver project solutions.
  • Contributing to winning work by identifying and converting opportunities and leveraging client relationships and business development acumen.
  • A strong track record in building, nurturing, and maintaining ongoing client relationships.
  • Experience or understanding of the broader water market (surface water resources would be highly regarded).
  • Australia Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
