About the Role

Cimic is seeking an experienced High Voltage Electrician to join our team at the Thiess Sonoma Mine, located 10km south of Collinsville. As our next High Voltage Electrician, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.

In this position, you will:

  • Perform the servicing, repair, and maintenance of large-scale mobile mining equipment as directed in accordance with Cimic's maintenance systems documentation.
  • Work safely and comply with the Site Safety Health and Management System.
  • Complete general maintenance, breakdowns, services, and component change-outs, as well as periodical statutory electrical testing and inspections to a high standard.
  • Source technical information from relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM, and computer-based systems.
  • Conduct required inspections to maximise equipment utilisation.

Our Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you are required to have:

  • Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic Trade Certificate, with post-trade experience working in the mining industry with diesel electric haul trucks, preferably Hitachi AC, Liebherr, Komatsu, or Cat.
  • Sound knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 & 3007.
  • Experience in high voltage equipment maintenance.
  • Experience conducting statutory testing on electrical infrastructure.
  • Statement of Attainment for HV Switching.
  • Registered Cabler would be an advantage.

  • Retention Payment from 1st July 2024, $10,000 paid in 52 weekly payments. Inclusive of super.
