Position Overview

CIMIC Group is currently seeking a skilled High Voltage Electrician to join our team. This is a permanent full-time role focused on delivering exceptional electrical solutions within the mining sector.

As a valued member of our team, you will report directly to the Electrical Supervisor and collaborate with colleagues to achieve outstanding results.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing servicing, repairs, and maintenance on large-scale mobile mining machinery in line with CIMIC maintenance protocols.
  • Adhering to safety regulations and the Site Safety Health and Management System.
  • Conducting general maintenance, troubleshooting, servicing, and component replacements, as well as periodic statutory electrical testing and inspections with precision.
  • Accessing technical information from relevant manuals, technical bulletins, OEM documentation, and computer-based systems.
  • Performing necessary inspections to optimize equipment performance.

Required Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic Trade Certificate, along with post-trade experience in the mining industry, specifically with diesel electric haul trucks, ideally from manufacturers such as Hitachi AC, Liebherr, Komatsu, or Cat.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 & 3007 standards.
  • Proven experience in maintaining high voltage equipment.
  • Experience in conducting statutory testing on electrical systems.
  • A Statement of Attainment for HV Switching.
  • Registration as a Cabler is considered advantageous.
