About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist/Senior Pricing Analyst to join our team at Vero Insurance. As a key member of our pricing team, you will play a critical role in providing insights and recommendations to drive business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain complex pricing models to optimize insurance premiums and ensure competitiveness in the market.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders and actuaries, to understand business objectives and develop pricing strategies that meet those objectives.
  • Conduct data analysis and provide insights to inform pricing decisions, including risk assessment and market trend analysis.
  • Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including business leaders and regulators.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory requirements, and ensure that our pricing strategies are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Associate of Institute of Actuaries of Australia or equivalent data science or mathematical qualification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in general insurance pricing, actuarial, or data science roles.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python, with experience in using SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or R Shiny.
  • Knowledge of CTP insurance products and insurance profit and loss statements is highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
