Key Job Responsibilities

The primary objective of this role is to drive growth and success through strategic vendor partnerships, onboarding, and commercial performance.

This position entails establishing and nurturing relationships with vendors, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure seamless operations and commercial success.

  • Develop and implement strategies for acquiring new vendors that align with brand positioning and marketplace strategy.
  • Oversee the onboarding process to guarantee smooth vendor assessment, ranging, and trading term negotiations.
  • Collaborate with Merchandise and Marketing teams to identify commercial opportunities and accelerate category expansion.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of dropship and marketplace programs, including vendor onboarding, fulfilment models, and operational dependencies that impact sales and customer experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining strong relationships with vendors through regular performance reviews, clear communication, and proactive support to position David Jones as a preferred marketplace choice.
  • Collaborating with Marketing, Trade, and Merchandise teams to develop promotional campaigns, optimise product discoverability, and drive incremental sales and customer engagement.
  • Defining and executing the marketplace growth roadmap by identifying new category opportunities, building business cases, and ensuring alignment with the company's digital transformation strategy.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to establish trust with vendors and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to drive commercial performance and achieve business objectives.
  • A deep understanding of dropship and marketplace programs, including vendor onboarding, fulfilment models, and operational dependencies.
