Lead Teacher – Learning Support

This role involves working with students who require additional support to access the curriculum. The successful candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with teachers, parents and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Individual Education Plans (IEPs): Develop and implement IEPs for students with disability and additional needs.
  • Teacher Support: Provide advice and support to teachers on matters related to specific disabilities.
  • NCCD Reporting: Monitor the accuracy of NCCD reporting and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Learning Support Programs: Oversee the implementation of specific learning support programs such as MACQLIT and STAMS.
  • Inclusion and Participation: Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to ensure inclusion, access and participation for students with disability and additional needs.
Requirements:
  • Certification and Qualifications: NESA Teacher Accreditation and valid WWCC.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with students, teachers and parents.
  • Experience: Experience working with students with disability and additional needs.
  • Knowledge and Understanding: Comprehensive understanding of DDA, DSE, NCCD, and IEPs.
  • Commitment: Commitment to excellence in Christian education.
  • Time Management: Effective time management, organisation and planning skills.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for supporting students with disability and additional needs, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
