This role is crucial in shaping the organisation's approach to data protection.

Data Privacy Strategy

The Data Protection Officer will lead the development and delivery of privacy strategies that meet international and local laws, including the Australian Privacy Act and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

This position ensures privacy policies are firmly embedded across the business, supporting stronger governance and trust.

Success comes through collaboration with Legal, Technology, Risk, Information Security, and operational teams to manage risks, strengthen practices, and respond effectively to incidents.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement the organisation's data protection strategy, aligning with broader business goals.
  • Build a culture of data responsibility and continuous learning.
  • Embed data protection into major initiatives such as cloud, analytics, and artificial intelligence.
  • Provide clear direction and advice on privacy matters.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on all aspects of data protection.

You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with laws across Australia, New Zealand, and other jurisdictions.
