Role Overview
  • Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies and standards that drive business value.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data ownership models, stewardship roles, and metadata standards that support organisational objectives.
  • Conduct thorough data analysis, profiling, and quality assessments to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide input into the design of data catalogs, lineage, and business glossaries that facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Support the implementation of data governance tools and platforms to ensure seamless data management.
  • Lead data governance initiatives within broader data transformation projects, driving data modernisation and migration efforts.
  • Communicate complex data insights and governance findings to senior stakeholders through clear storytelling and visualisations.
  • Mentor junior professionals and contribute to thought leadership in data strategy and governance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in data governance or data management, preferably in a professional services or enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks (e.g. DAMA), and data lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and operationalise data governance strategies and policies that align with business goals.
  • Familiarity with data governance tools and metadata management platforms that support efficient data management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a curious mindset to navigate complex data environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across business and technical teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional project teams, adapting to changing requirements and priorities.
