About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer - Mechanical to join our Fixed Plant Maintenance Reliability Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical support by applying Reliability Centered Maintenance principles to drive defect elimination, improvement initiatives, and identify opportunities to support safe and reliable fixed plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Safety Outcomes
- Demonstrate strong safety values by supporting Field Leadership, Safety Audits, Risk Assessments, and Safety Initiatives that drive positive safety outcomes.
- Improve Asset Performance
- Examine asset performance and work management trends and identify opportunities to consistently improve equipment reliability and productivity.
- Enable Maintenance Teams
- Enable, influence & support maintenance team(s) to achieve these goals.
- Root Cause Analysis
- Guide and facilitate root cause analysis from identified gaps in equipment and work management performance.
- Corrective Actions
- Ensure corrective actions/recommendations are in place to prevent recurrence of identified failure mode(s).
- Initiatives and Projects
- Identify and drive initiatives/projects to capture value across: Safety, Volume, Cost and Culture, focusing on improving MTBF, equipment availability, and direct cost savings.
- Technical Support
- Provide technical support and guidance to Fixed Plant Maintenance team/s.
- Maintenance Budget
- Provide input into Maintenance budget forecasting and review equipment critical spares.
- Asset Life Cycle
- Manage End-to-End asset life cycle and consistently optimise asset management strategies to deliver business requirements.
- BHP Operating System
- Support and be an advocate for BHP Operating System (BOS) Principles and Practices.
- Stakeholder Relationships
- Build strong relationships with all the internal and external stakeholders to influence and drive outcomes to deliver business goals.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
- Engineering Degree
- Degree in Engineering.
- Communication and Influence
- Ability to influence, engage, & communicate with stakeholders effectively across all levels of the business, from frontline employees to senior management.
- Problem-Solving
- Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions utilising continuous improvement processes.
- Technical Skills
- Proficient-level of experience with all Microsoft Office Applications & 1SAP.
- Management of Change and Risk
- Ability to apply management of change & risk principles.
- Leadership and Adaptability
- Willingness & ability to learn, adapt to change, & step-up as a leadership delegate when required.
- Reliability Engineering Experience
- Solid experience as a Reliability Engineer or Maintenance Engineer within the mining, or oil & gas sector will be highly advantageous.
