About the Role
This role is part of our Fixed Plant Maintenance Reliability Team, which provides technical support to drive defect elimination, improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to support safe and reliable fixed plant operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the fixed plant maintenance, production, planning, inventory and engineering teams to ensure success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety: Demonstrate strong safety values by supporting field leadership, safety audits, risk assessments and safety initiatives that drive positive safety outcomes.
- Teamwork: Support a team approach to work closely between site execution teams, including OS Conveyors and GTS Engineering.
- Asset Performance: Examine asset performance and work management trends and identify opportunities to consistently improve equipment reliability and productivity.
- Maintenance Support: Enable, influence and support maintenance teams to achieve these goals.
- Root Cause Analysis: Guide and facilitate root cause analysis from identified gaps in equipment and work management performance, ensuring corrective actions/recommendations are in place to prevent recurrence of identified failure modes.
- Initiatives and Projects: Identify and drive initiatives/projects to capture value across safety, volume, cost and culture, with a focus on improving MTBF, equipment availability and direct cost savings.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to fixed plant maintenance teams.
- Asset Life Cycle Management: Manage end-to-end asset life cycle and consistently optimize asset management strategies to deliver business requirements.
- BHP Operating System: Support and be an advocate for BHP Operating System (BOS) principles and practices.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to influence and drive outcomes to deliver business goals.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
- Engineering Degree: A degree in engineering is required.
- Communication and Influence: Ability to influence, engage and communicate with stakeholders effectively across all levels of the business, from frontline employees to senior management.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions using continuous improvement processes.
- Technical Skills: Proficient-level experience with all Microsoft Office applications and 1SAP.
- Management of Change and Risk: Ability to apply management of change and risk principles.
- Leadership and Adaptability: Willingness and ability to learn, adapt to change and step-up as a leadership delegate when required.
- Reliability Engineering Experience: Solid experience as a reliability engineer or maintenance engineer within the mining or oil and gas sector will be highly advantageous.
