About the Role

As a Reliability Engineer with BHP Group, you will play a critical role in driving defect elimination, improvement initiatives, and identifying opportunities to support safe and reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply Reliability Centered Maintenance principles to drive technical support and improvement initiatives
  • Establish and maintain relationships with maintenance, production, planning, inventory, and engineering teams
  • Examine asset performance and work management trends to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Enable and influence maintenance teams to achieve reliability and productivity goals
  • Guide and facilitate root cause analysis to identify gaps in equipment and work management performance
  • Ensure corrective actions and recommendations are in place to prevent recurrence of identified failure modes
  • Identify and drive initiatives to capture value across safety, volume, cost, and culture
  • Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance teams
  • Provide input into maintenance budget forecasting and review equipment critical spares
  • Manage end-to-end asset life cycle and optimize asset management strategies to deliver business requirements
  • Support and advocate for BHP Operating System (BOS) Principles and Practices
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence and drive outcomes

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Degree in Engineering
  • Ability to influence, engage, and communicate with stakeholders across all levels of the business
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions
  • Proficient-level experience with Microsoft Office Applications and SAP
  • Ability to apply management of change and risk principles
  • Willingness and ability to learn, adapt to change, and step-up as a leadership delegate when required
  • Solid experience as a Reliability Engineer or Maintenance Engineer within the mining or oil and gas sector
