Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client, a leading food manufacturer with global operations. This is a unique opportunity to lead electrical and automation projects, drive safety and efficiency improvements, and contribute to the company's commitment to innovation.

About the Role
  • Lead the design and implementation of electrical and automation projects across multiple facilities, prioritizing safety and efficiency improvements.
  • Act as the company's representative for electrical statutory and government regulations, ensuring compliance and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to select and manage electrical/automation solutions that align with project goals and best practices.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, prepare project estimates, and manage the tender process to secure optimal outcomes for the company.
  • Support internal maintenance teams in developing capabilities to manage electrical and control systems autonomously.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 5 years' experience in electrical engineering and control systems, ideally within a manufacturing or similar setting.
  • Strong experience with PLC systems, including Citect, Allen Bradley, Siemens, and GE.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian Standards for electrical installations and statutory requirements.
  • Proven experience with equipment tendering, commissioning, and electrical integration in brownfield environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a commitment to fostering a customer-focused, safety-first culture.
