Operations Leading Hand Job Description

This role involves overseeing the Customer Delivery team, ensuring productivity and performance criteria are met in the designated area of responsibility. The position requires assisting supervision of catering trucks within a specific work area to guarantee safe and timely delivery to all aircraft.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate team members in the Customer Delivery department
  • Ensure productivity and performance criteria are met in the designated area of responsibility, including completion of regular performance assessment reports;
  • Assist supervision of catering trucks within a designated work area to ensure they reach and load-up all aircraft safely and on schedule.
  • Lead by example and perform all the duties of a Driver.
  • Supervise, train and induct workers within a designated work area.
  • Organise and coordinate work within the designated work area.
  • Perform administrative and reporting duties as required.
  • Follows up on any discrepancies and ensures all flight deliveries are correct.
  • Carry out various administrative and reporting duties, including the operation of communication and computer aids.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrating leadership, decision making and organisational skills necessary to efficiently meet performance requirements in a changing work environment.
  • Hands on and display leadership by example.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must hold and maintain possession of a valid ASIC card.
  • Must hold and maintain possession of a valid Australian state/territory MR or greater driver's license as well as the authority to drive airside ADA.
  • Fork Lift license preferred yet not essential.
  • First Aid Certificate & WHS qualifications preferred.
  • Flexibility in working around flight schedules is essential (7 day per week operation).
  • A clean Police Record as part of mandatory checks required.
