About the Role

This is a senior position in our lighting team, requiring a confident and experienced professional who can lead and mentor others. As a key member of our crew, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality lighting for various productions and events.

The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to supervise and develop teams. You will be responsible for guiding both core staff and casual crew members, while maintaining a culture of safety, collaboration, and excellence in our venues.

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • A diploma or higher qualification in live performance or technical production
  • No less than 5 years of experience in the lighting industry
  • A proven track record of leading, supervising, and developing teams, including casuals and emerging technicians

We are looking for someone with a collaborative approach, strong communication skills, and experience in lighting programming, ideally with ETC EOS. Familiarity with lighting design, automated lighting, and control systems is essential.

A solid understanding of lighting networks, data distribution, and modern venue infrastructure is required, as well as previous experience as a Head Electrician or equivalent senior technical role. Comfortable working across a variety of platforms and tools, including Vectorworks, AutoCAD, Lightwright, and Moving Light Assistant, you will be an asset to our team.

Desirable skills include experience lighting theatre, musicals, or dance, as well as relevant industry certifications and training.

Responsibilities

This full-time ongoing position involves supervising crews during all phases of production – from pre-production planning to performances and bump-outs. You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a safe and collaborative work environment
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff
  • Ensuring high-quality delivery of lighting services
