**Job Title:** Senior Client Services Officer

 

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our team as a Senior Client Services Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality public housing services and support to clients in the Big Rivers Region.

The Department of Housing, Local Government and Community Development (DHLGCD) is committed to fostering stronger and more interconnected communities in both urban and rural areas. By spearheading innovative housing solutions, supporting efficient local governance, and driving initiatives for social and economic resilience, we aim to enhance the well-being and opportunities of all Territorians in the region.

In this position, you will work closely with stakeholders to identify and address the needs of clients, providing tailored support and advice to ensure they receive the best possible outcomes. You will also be responsible for managing public housing waitlists, profiling clients, and allocating properties to maximize the provision of housing and minimize rent loss.

You will have a strong understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act and Housing Act, and will be able to provide quality support and service to urban and remote public housing tenants. Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating property inspections, rent collections, and payment arrangements.

To be successful in this role, you will require excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively, build relationships, and communicate sensitively and credibly with Aboriginal tenants, clients, and stakeholders.

We offer a competitive remuneration package consisting of 12% superannuation, six weeks recreational leave, three weeks personal leave, up to 17.5% annual leave loading, and 3 day paid shutdown over Christmas. We also offer the opportunity to further develop your career in the Northern Territory Public Sector.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage effectively, build relationships, and communicate sensitively and credibly with Aboriginal tenants, clients, and stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act and Housing Act
  • Experience working independently, confidentially, and effectively in a service delivery environment
