Job Opportunity: Tailings Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to support our clients' tailings and mine waste management teams.

With a focus on innovation and technical excellence, you will work closely with our clients to design and implement effective solutions for their tailings storage facilities (TSFs) and water storage facilities (WSFs).

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced individual who is passionate about contributing to innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Civil/Geotechnical/Tailings dam design;
  • Geotechnical analyses using various software packages;
  • Understanding of tailing deposition modelling;
  • Geotechnical and environmental site characterisation;
  • Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems;
  • Project/task management and proposal preparation support;
  • Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications;
  • Client Development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field;
  • Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field (preferred);
  • Professional registration (preferred but not essential);
  • Engineer of Record (EoR) required;
  • At least 8 years (10+ preferred) of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software required;
  • Knowledge of numerical modeling tools (preferred);
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills;
  • Field work and overnight travel may be required;
  • Valid Australian driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
