Senior Geotechnical Engineer Opportunity

Evolution Mining seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Technical Services team at Mungari. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of pit slopes, waste rock dumps, tailings and water storage facilities.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of geotechnical controls, open pit operations and safety systems. They will also possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with technical and operational teams.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced geotechnical professional to drive safe, sustainable and effective outcomes. The position will involve leading inspections, contributing to ground control strategies and managing geotechnical projects from concept to completion.

You will have a tertiary qualification in Mining, Geoscience, Civil Engineering or a related discipline with a focus on Geomechanics, and have the following experience:

  • Minimum 7 years' geotechnical experience
  • Proven supervisory experience in operations, technical services or project management
  • Strong understanding of safety systems, geotechnical controls and open pit operations
  • Solid knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Advanced user of geotechnical modelling and CAD software
  • Budget management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining, Geoscience, Civil Engineering or a related discipline with a focus on Geomechanics
  • At least 7 years' experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Proven track record of leading inspections, developing ground control strategies and managing geotechnical projects
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
