Geotechnical Specialist

This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about geotechnics and have experience in the field. You will work on iconic projects, contributing to the enhancement of the reputation of WSP's Mining Sustaining Capital team.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Geology, Geoscience, or Civil Engineering, and at least 2 years of experience in a Geo role, preferably on mining, rail, or infrastructure projects. They should also have experience with geotechnical data management packages and GIS applications.
In this role, you will:
- Work across various sustaining capital projects, including heavy haul rail projects and mine developments.
- Prepare geotechnical designs, technical reports, specifications, and engineering drawings for high-quality project deliverables.
- Interpret field and laboratory data to support geotechnical model development and design recommendations.
- Coordinate accurate entry, validation, and ongoing management of geotechnical data within project databases, ensuring integrity and traceability.
- Deliver clear, well-structured technical reports and documentation on schedule, with review and mentorship from senior team members.
