The Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Financial Accountant to enhance our finance team in Brisbane. This role presents long-term career advancement opportunities and will provide exposure to diverse projects within KBR's Australian operations.

The ideal candidate will possess over 5 years of relevant experience and a robust technical accounting background, including a thorough understanding of accounting standards. You will oversee the accounting processes for a specific business stream and collaborate closely with project teams to drive success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Project Accounting function for a designated business stream, ensuring accurate project reporting, issue identification, cost analysis, and support for project teams.
  • Cultivate partnerships with key stakeholders to provide valuable financial insights and support in achieving business objectives.
  • Assist in updating forecasts and budgets, partnering with the business to meet its financial goals.
  • Manage month-end closing processes, including issue resolution, labor cost analysis, and preparation of management reports.
  • Provide comprehensive support throughout the project lifecycle, from bidding to project completion.
  • Support Joint Ventures by preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with accounting policies.
  • Facilitate the audit process and preparation of statutory accounts as needed.
  • Conduct balance sheet and income statement reconciliations as required.

Candidate Profile:

To excel in this position, you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field and hold a degree in Finance or Accounting. Strong communication skills and familiarity with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or other large ERP systems are advantageous.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Membership in a professional organization, such as CA or CPA.
  • Proficiency in IT and experience with Power BI and digital applications are preferred.
