Job Description

Purchasing Officer is required to manage our overseas procurement and day-to-day materials coordination for a $130 million portfolio.

The role will be based at Smithfield initially, then move to our new site at Horsley Park.

About This Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to bring your purchasing experience to Pact Group's Contract Manufacturing Division and contribute to the success of our Personal Care business.

You will thrive in this role if you have experience in a busy manufacturing environment, knowledge of import documentation, and freight forwarding and shipping contacts.

A highly motivated individual with a drive to succeed, you will be responsible for monitoring and replenishing packaging and raw materials on a timely basis.

You will also assist in contract and supplier administration, working collaboratively with internal departments and vendors to ensure orders and stock are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor stock levels and proactively identify purchasing requirements.
  • Run relevant SAP reports to action rescheduling and cancellations of POs.
  • Negotiate terms/pricing with suppliers as needed, arrange quotations, and process invoices for import and local purchasing.
  • Participate in cycle meetings to ascertain production, NPD, and customer requirements.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement new processes within the purchasing function.
  • Manage and review excess/obsolete stock levels effectively.
  • Evaluate suppliers' performance and ensure they adhere to agreed-upon standards.
  • Liaise with the accounts team to coordinate supplier payments and schedules.
Your Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrate commitment to workplace safety and a 'Toward Zero Harm' culture.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain or Finance are desirable.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel – Intermediate) and SAP is essential.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrate a can-do attitude, deep sense of ownership, and desire to see tasks through to completion.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, high attention to detail, and accuracy.
