Watercraft Operations Manager

Job Description:
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness on assigned vessels by performing duties such as teak treatment, cleaning tables, windows, stainless steel components, washing, buffing, polishing, and waxing boats, degreasing engine rooms.
  • E nsure that vessel mechanisms are functioning properly, including swim platforms, lights, exterior stereos, etc.
  • Ensure the vessel is safe and secure by placing covers in position.
  • Complete an exterior cleaning checklist.
  • Address issues reported by owners on the logbook, including all necessary repairs.
  • Immediately report to the Fleet Manager any issues that can affect the use of the vessel, such as engine breakdown.
  • Position the vessel in the safest and most practical location for work needing to be carried out, taking into account weather conditions and personnel available to check on/move the vessel.
  • Daily assess fuel requirements and report to the Fleet Manager/Operations Manager.
  • Refuel the vessel according to instructions from the Fleet Manager/Operations Manager.
  • Perform daily checks of the engine, engine fluids, strainers, and seacocks.
  • Maintain the dock area around the vessels to be clean and tidy.
  • Ensure kayaks and Lilypads are securely fastened.
  • Ensure the vessel is ready for use at the scheduled time.
  • Immediately report to the Fleet Manager/Operations Manager when spare parts are required.
  • Before days off and holidays, assign tasks to detailers and delegate responsibilities to another Watercraft Operations Manager or Fleet Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Familiarity with boat maintenance and repair.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems.
