PhD Position: Developing a Spatial Decision-Support Tool for Offshore Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems

The Offshore Renewable Energy Systems project offers a unique opportunity to develop a spatial decision-support tool that autonomously identifies optimal sites for offshore hybrid renewable energy systems. The primary focus of this role is to design and implement a GIS-based decision-support tool that assists energy planners and system managers in visually analyzing spatial and analytical results.
Required Skills and Qualifications- A PhD degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, computer science, or environmental science.
- Experience with geographic information systems (GIS) and spatial analysis.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
This PhD position offers the following benefits:
- An annual stipend of $38,500 (indexed) for a period of up to three and a half years of full-time study.
- A Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarship to cover tuition fees for the same period.
You will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary research team and contribute to a research program within the Blue Economy CRC titled Offshore Renewable Energy Systems. You will also have access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.
