Northern Beaches Hospital is a world-class healthcare facility that provides level 5 delineation services to both public and private patients. With 486 beds, a 50-bed Emergency Department, and 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, we offer a wide range of services to help you build a successful career in your chosen field.
Your Role
We are seeking an experienced midwife to join our Midwifery Group Practice team as a Lead Maternity Nurse Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will provide continuity of care to low-risk women, working with a caseload of 40 women per year using evidence-based, woman-centered care. You will be supported by a team of midwives within the group and backed up by core staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high standards of evidence-based midwifery care to women of varying ages and cultural backgrounds
- Plan, assess, implement, and evaluate midwifery care in collaboration with women, their families, and the multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and quality health outcomes
- Supervise and guide junior and undergraduate midwives in provision of midwifery care
- Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs
- Possess a strong passion for delivering an exceptional patient experience for women and their families
Requirements
- Current registration as a midwife with AHPRA
- Bachelor of Midwifery or Graduate Diploma in Midwifery (if Bachelor of Nursing is first qualification) or equivalent
- At least two years postgraduate experience as a registered midwife
- Highly developed clinical skills across the continuum of maternity services
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to a family-focused approach to care
