Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and principal provider of specialist healthcare, seeks a skilled Registered Midwife to join its team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing woman-centered, evidence-based midwifery care that promotes identified health outcomes. This will involve assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating midwifery care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

This permanent Birthing Unit role requires current midwifery registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and the ability to work a 7-day rotating roster with 12 or 8-hour shifts.

Intrapartum experience is desirable, but not essential. The ideal candidate will have evidence of participation in ongoing professional development, commitment to maintaining competence, and enhancement of skills. They will also be willing to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, woman-centered midwifery care
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in midwifery practice
Salary and Benefits

The remuneration package includes an estimated annual salary of $76,445 - $108,315 (based on a 38-hour working week), plus annual leave loading and 11.5% Superannuation. Additional benefits include accrued day off each month (full-time only), paid parental leave, and access to free courses, qualifications, and coaching via Sydney Education.
