About the Role

The Technical Officer will provide expert technical service and advice to support the functions and users of the laboratories and workspaces. This includes maintaining and demonstrating the operation of laboratory equipment and instruments, as well as providing technical support to staff and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and demonstrate the operation of laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Provide technical support to staff and students
  • Ensure the maintenance of the laboratories and support the adoption and implementation of OHS standards
  • Prepare and set up material and equipment for clinical practice classes
  • Contribute to the maintenance and operation of instrumentation, laboratories, and supporting facilities
Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in nursing teaching laboratories or relevant nursing industry-related experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of current nursing practice, including the use of appropriate equipment in nursing procedures and clinical environments
  • Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining nursing simulation laboratory-based instruments and equipment
  • Ability to provide technical support in the implementation of digital technologies
  • Proven track record of building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of current OH&S legislation and knowledge of other field or industry regulations or standards
