About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and flexible Technical Officer to join our team in the College of Vocational Education at RMIT University.

As a Technical Officer, you will provide support to teachers and students in a machine workshop environment, assisting with administrative duties during peak times in the academic calendar.

Key responsibilities include providing technical support, maintaining equipment, and working collaboratively with the team to deliver high-quality services.

Our ideal candidate will have strong practical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Steel capped boots are required for the role, and appointment is subject to passing a Working with Children Check.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to teachers and students in a machine workshop environment.
  • Maintain equipment and assist with administrative duties during peak times.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver high-quality services.
  • Provide customer service to staff and/or HDR candidates where required.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong practical skills and experience with a wide range of hand and power tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and deadlines.
  • Specific knowledge or experience in working machine workshops will be advantageous.
