Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead our team in conducting field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for civil/structural projects.

  • Candidates will be responsible for planning, conducting and evaluating independent Civil work that requires judgment in the selection, application, and adaptation of Civil engineering techniques, procedures and criteria on a medium size project or assignment.
  • The successful candidate will design, develop, modify, and evaluate Civil components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL).
  • Key responsibilities include reviewing and approving key engineering drawings and calculations and bid summaries, as well as determining the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete.
  • The ideal candidate will originate and check complex Civil engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.
  • Additionally, they will coordinate with client representatives to obtain approval of Civil aspects of the work and conduct special studies of new Civil engineering methods, materials, and techniques.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to mentor Civil engineering personnel by providing on-the-job training for their professional development and participate in special technical educational and training programs.

  • The successful candidate will also lead constructability reviews and support the preparation of estimates, staffing needs, and schedules.
  • They will provide input to and participate in the implementation of new regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data.
