About Our Incident Management Team

We deliver fire, rescue, and emergency management programs and services throughout Queensland to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies.

This role focuses on developing incident management capabilities through effective command and control of tactical, operational, and strategic functions.

You will contribute to reviewing our incident management training framework to ensure it is consistent, flexible, and scalable to manage all hazards based on AIIMS principles.

Key Requirements

  • A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification or the ability to obtain one within a mutually agreed timeframe.
  • A high-level understanding of AIIMS doctrine, IM functional roles, and operational concepts.
  • Experience working in incident management coordination centers and knowledge of disaster management arrangements.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and/or qualifications in project management are also desirable.

Your Key Accountabilities

  • Developing and implementing best practice strategies, directions, and objectives.
  • Providing high-level administrative and project support.
  • Contributing to the design, development, evaluation, and review of training curriculum and materials.
  • Researching and evaluating operational activities to provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparing and reviewing reports, briefing notes, submissions, and correspondence.
  • Analyzing trends and issues to inform quality decision-making.

What We Offer

This role requires participation in an out-of-hours roster during emergency event operations, which may involve working outside normal hours, including nights, weekends, and extended hours.
