Job Title: Piping Stress Engineer

As a skilled piping stress engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and safety of piping systems within our projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and maintaining stress critical line lists, nominating anchor bay locations, and providing loads for structures and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain stress critical line lists to ensure compliance with project specifications and Australian standards.
  • Nominate anchor bay locations and provide loads for structures, tanks, and equipment.
  • Participate in layout reviews and provide comments on the layout prior to formal flexibility analysis.
  • Provide guidance to designers on supporting systems not subject to formal analysis.
  • Complete piping stress analysis in accordance with ASME B31.3, nominating support locations.
  • Prepare, verify, and approve design calculations and verify isometrics.
  • Mentor and supervise junior piping engineers.
  • Specify springs, expansion joints, or special pipe support design as required.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registration as a professional engineer (preferred).
  • Eight years' engineering and stress analysis experience in mining and metals projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in CAESAR II analysis software.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of Australian piping codes and ASME B31.3.
  • Experience in isometric verification and approval.
  • Able to work autonomously and supervise a stress analysis team.
