Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Piping Stress Engineer to join our project delivery team in Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure piping systems comply with project specifications, Australian standards and industry processes.
  • Prepare and review stress specifications, develop critical line lists, nominate anchor bay locations and provide loads for structures, tanks and equipment.
  • Participate in layout reviews, provide comments on layout prior to formal flexibility analysis and guide designers on supporting systems not subject to formal analysis.
  • Complete piping stress analysis according to ASME B31.3, nominating support locations, prepare design calculations and verify isometrics.
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers, specify springs, expansion joints or special pipe support design as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional engineering registration (preferred)
  • Eight years of engineering experience in mining and metals projects, with expertise in stress analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in CAESAR II analysis software
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian piping codes and ASME B31.3
  • Experience in isometric verification and approval
  • Ability to work autonomously and lead a stress analysis team
