The Head of Chaplaincy provides strategic and spiritual leadership across seniors communities, ensuring pastoral care is grounded in Christian faith and evangelical theology. This role plays a vital part in shaping compassionate care services and mentoring chaplaincy teams to meet the diverse spiritual needs of residents and clients.

You will lead and develop a team of Chaplains and Pastoral Carers to implement this vision of Spiritual Care based at our office location, travelling to locations in Greater Sydney.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of chaplaincy services and Spiritual Care.
  • Recruit, mentor, and support chaplaincy staff and volunteers.
  • Promote and integrate spiritual care into all services.
  • Offer strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • Apply Christian theology in pastoral settings.
Requirements
  • Hold a license or equivalent authority issued by a relevant ecclesiastical body.
  • Hold a relevant degree in theological training from an institution in good standing.
  • Be Ordained or hold the position of Senior Lay Minister.
  • Have proven experience (10+ years) in pastoral ministry and ministry team leadership.
  • Have ongoing membership and participation of a local congregation.
  • Maintain an ongoing personal commitment to spiritual growth in the Christian faith.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills, leading, mentoring, and motivating a diverse team.
  • Hold a valid NSW Drivers License and vehicle.
