HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly clients living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer, you'll be actively involved with a local Christian church.
Can you share faith, prayer, and Scripture in Hindi with someone seeking spiritual connection?
We're looking for a Hindi speaking pastoral care volunteer to visit a lovely woman once a week for an hour.
Originally from Fiji and now living with her son and daughter-in-law, she finds great comfort in having the Bible read to her and being prayed for.
A gentle presence and heartfelt words in Hindi would bring her deep comfort and joy.
If you're ready to offer comfort through faith and language apply now.
You'll supplement andcomplement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may:
* Support people to meet their spiritual needs
Skills required for this role:
- High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills.
- Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training- Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer.
Spiritual Care Series North Turramurra - Face to face
When: starts Wednesday 7th May, concludes 2nd July 2025. Note a break for the week 4th June
Time:2:00 – 4:00pm
Where: Leighton Lodge, Nth Turramurra
Your impact
Volunteering along side Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
