About the Role
The Front Desk Coordinator serves as the welcoming face of the hotel. Responsibilities include greeting guests, managing check-ins and check-outs, operating the switchboard, and addressing any inquiries or requests from guests. This role involves processing various payment methods in line with accounting policies and adhering to property control standards. Front Desk Coordinators are dedicated to delivering an exceptional guest experience from the moment of reservation through to departure. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with different departments and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing room keys.
- Handle all payment types, including room charges, cash, checks, debit, or credit.
- Respond to, document, and manage all guest calls, messages, requests, questions, or concerns.
- Collaborate with Housekeeping to monitor room readiness for check-in.
- Inform guests/visitors about parking procedures and coordinate with bell or valet staff as necessary.
- Provide guests with directions and information about the property and local attractions.
- Generate daily reports (arrivals, departures), identify special requests, and verify report accuracy.
- Complete required cashier and closing reports within the computer system.
- Process guests' personal checks and traveler's checks.
- Count cash at the beginning and end of shifts, ensuring balance and compliance with accounting standards.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- Completion or ongoing studies in a Hospitality-related program is preferred.
- Previous experience in Front Office Operations is advantageous.
- A solid background in customer service or Front Office roles is preferred.
- Availability for shift work on a rotating schedule.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative spirit with a passion for enhancing guest experiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Opera PMS is highly regarded.
