
Fleet Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to oversee our vehicle fleet. This key role ensures the smooth operation of our vehicles, guaranteeing they remain in excellent condition.
- Manage relationships with external partners for vehicle procurement and maintenance services
- Coordinate traffic citations and accident reports, ensuring timely resolution and compliance
- Develop and enforce policies related to fleet units, maintaining consistency across all operations
- Monitor fuel card usage and generate detailed reports for analysis and improvement
- Verify accuracy of fleet invoices and collaborate with the accounting team on payments
- Prepare purchase orders for approval and payment, streamlining financial processes
- Liaise with key suppliers in Australia and New Zealand to source vehicles and equipment
- Maintain accurate records of current vehicles, including driver details, registration, and mileage
- Collaborate with branches on vehicle repairs and maintenance, ensuring optimal performance
- Recommend disposal of vehicles when they become uneconomical, promoting sustainability
- Evaluate and recommend suitable ute and trailer configurations based on operational needs and terrain
- Identify suitable forklift models for workshop and yard use, enhancing efficiency
- Process registrations, road user charges, fuel cards, tolls, and fines, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Guarantee quality control of delivered vehicles, addressing issues with suppliers as needed
- Provide regular reporting on fleet running costs, informing strategic decisions
- A self-motivated individual able to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in fleet management, procurement, or workshop operations, with a strong understanding of best practices
- High attention to detail and exceptional accuracy, with the ability to analyze complex data
- Post-secondary education in business administration or a related field is an asset but not required
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess situations, evaluate options, and select the best course of action
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel pivot tables and vlookup, and PowerBi, with experience working with large datasets
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record are mandatory
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities
