The Gene Ontology is a comprehensive biomedical ontology describing genes and gene products under three categories: biological process, cellular components, and molecular functions. Our project aims to leverage domain knowledge captured in ontologies to create high-quality layouts for GO-LEGO and its integration with SBGN.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct research at the intersection of information visualisation, bioinformatics, and the Semantic Web.
  2. Develop novel visualisation techniques for GO-LEGO and its integration with SBGN.
  3. Collaborate with experts in the field to advance our understanding of complex biomedical data.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent academic track record in computer science, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Strong programming and analytical skills.
  • Research experience in ontologies, knowledge representation, bioinformatics, or information visualisation is highly advantageous.
